3 Weeks In China

We spent the next three weeks in China living out of our suitcases with Ruby. Three days after meeting Ruby we travelled back to the orphanage to see where she had spent the first 14 months of her life. We had a lovely day with the orphanage Director Mr Han and his staff. First we were welcomed with fruit and gifts and a talk from the Director. He then took us to each of the rooms that the girls had lived and showed us their cots, we weren't allowed to take photos unfortunately. We were all then taken for lunch at the local hotel and then afterwards we travelled to each of the girls finding places. This was a very emotional day for everyone involved but a day that we will cherish forever. To stand in the spot where Ruby's Birth mother had placed her and to think of how she might have been feeling that day is so everwhelming it is very hard to describe. Now being a mother for over a year I can better understand what she might have been feeling that day.
