Home to Family & Friends

On January 12th, 2007 we boarded a plane back to Australia for Ruby to meet her family for the first time. She was met at the airport by both sets of grandparents and my sister and sister-in-law and some of her cousins. Ruby was so overwhelmed by the big trip home and then all these strange faces staring and googling at her. But being the survivor she is she soldiered on and enjoyed her couple of days at Nana and Pop's house. We had a belated Christmas lunch for her arrival with all of my family and Dick's parents. Ruby was presented with all her Christmas presents and enjoyed trying to open them all at once. We wondered if this was going to be too much for Ruby at the time but decided that a couple more days of tormoil in her life wouldn't hurt her too much and then we could return to Yendon and settle down for quiet time and for her to get use to a routine with us in her own home. We kept things quiet for a while so she could get use to us and her new life in Australia.
