People from Ballarat would have to be the bravest. We set out this morning for a Family Day with our intercountry adoption playgroup (of course we had to pick a day that there were predictions of SNOW yes that is right SNOW!!!). Did we get it the answer is yes. We went to Donnegan's Farm just a short drive from Ballarat and the kids had such a great day. The owners really got things organised and the kids enjoyed feeding the baby lambs, feeding the chickens, pigs and even the baby cows. As soon they brought the bottles out to feed the lamps Ruby was the first to get in there and get her hands dirty. She quickly snaffled up the bottles and started feeding, she thought it was great. The owners put on a lovely morning tea of scones, jam and cream straight out of the oven and I have to say they definately beat mine but even more they were slightly better than my Mum's which I use to think were the best (they still are really Mummy). I set up an activity table for the kids with drawing, cutting, pasting and building which really saved the day because of the weather. We kept going out to the animals and quickly rushing back to the open fire to warm ourselves again, it was a freezing cold day. We had the pleasure of seeing Bindi again a little girl who recently came out from China at the age of 12 years old. She has changed so much from our first meeting. She is becoming a very confident and happy child which is so lovely to see. Ruby can't wait for her next trip to Donnegan's farm she had an absolutely wonderful day and really enjoyed playing with her playgroup friends.
