Ruby Goes Under General Anaesthetic

Today our little girl had to go under general anaesthetic to have some dental work done. I have to say she makes us so proud she would have to be the bravest little girl in the whole wide world. We went to the hospital very nervous about the day ahead and not knowing how she would cope with it. She went through the whole day as though nothing had happened. The only time she got upset was when they put the gas mask over her mouth and nose to get her to sleep. I suggested they should have tissues nearby for very upset Mummy's. The nurse looking after her had a new little friend in Ruby. Ruby would go to the door of the room we were in and yell out NURSE and she would come running she was so lovely. Ruby walked with the nurse and myself to the theatre room and then got up on the bed and layed down as though it was nothing. She thought it was great that Mummy got a hat like hers too. She then let them transfer her on to the operating table no problems at all, Mummy was by her side. The most horrible part of the day was going to the recovery room and seeing her lying there still not quite with us yet. Tears swelled in my eyes and Daddy's. I just wanted to pick her up and cuddle her and never let her go. Once again I have to reiterate we would have the most bravest little girl in the whole wide world she is very very special.
